Sasol Nitro wanted to expand their business into bulk emulsion explosives and decided to build a plant for the manufacturing for this. The plant was built to be of modular nature for the plant to be moved in future to a new location if required.

SNC-Lavalin won the contract from Sasol and appointed Hamar Controls as the subcontractor for all the E, C&I works. The scope was divided into two sections. The first was for the Design, manufacture and supply of all the switchgear and substations and the second was for the site supply, installation, and construction management. The Hamar Controls scope of the project was completed safely and without any lost time injuries.
